The Gailic Leadership Network (GLN) successfully hosted the maiden edition of the Obaatsen Summit on Saturday, 22 August 2026, at the Kofi Konadu Auditorium, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), bringing together women and emerging leaders for a meaningful conversation on purpose, leadership, influence and impact.
Held under the theme “Empowering Women to Lead with Purpose, Influence and Impact,” the summit marked a significant milestone in GLN’s commitment to nurturing women who are equipped to lead with confidence, integrity and a sense of responsibility to society.
A Gathering of Purpose-Driven Women.
The Obaatsen Summit was designed as a platform for women to connect, learn, share experiences and explore the pathways through which they can make meaningful contributions to their families, institutions, communities and the nation.
The summit brought together distinguished speakers, women leaders, professionals, students and emerging changemakers for a day of inspiration, learning and meaningful engagement.
Through insightful conversations and practical sessions, participants were encouraged to recognize their potential, embrace their unique leadership journeys and develop the courage to lead with intention.
Inspiring Leadership Through Experience and Wisdom
A key highlight of the summit was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of L’aine Services Ltd.
Speaking on the topic, “Beyond the Table: From Presence to Power, Influence and Impact,” Dr. Hagan challenged participants to look beyond occupying leadership spaces and focus on the value, influence and lasting impact they bring to those spaces.
Her address underscored the importance of preparation, competence, confidence and purposeful leadership, encouraging women to embrace opportunities and make their voices count.
The summit also featured remarks from Nana Nanka Bruce I, Sompahene of Gomoa Essabakrom and the Gomoa Traditional Area, whose presence and contribution brought a valuable perspective on leadership, heritage and service.
Additional contributions from distinguished guests and facilitators enriched the conversations, offering participants diverse insights into the responsibilities and opportunities that come with leadership.
Three Transformative Learning Tracks
The summit featured three carefully curated learning tracks designed to support participants in different areas of personal and leadership development.
- Legacy Cycle
This session explored the importance of building a meaningful legacy and understanding how individual choices, values and actions can influence future generations.
Participants were encouraged to think beyond immediate success and consider the lasting contribution they desire to make.
- Activation Lab: Wealth, Innovation & Influence
This track focused on the relationship between personal activation, financial growth, innovation and influence.
It encouraged participants to explore opportunities for creating value, developing innovative ideas and using their influence responsibly to achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Pathway to Power: Voice & Visibility
This session examined the importance of finding one’s voice, building confidence and becoming visible in spaces where decisions are made.
Participants were encouraged to embrace their stories, communicate their ideas effectively and position themselves for leadership opportunities.
Building Partnerships for Greater Impact
